Below is a plain account of the information Synapsiscoffee handles, what it is used for, and how to have it removed.
What this covers
The scope here is this domain. Linked sites are outside it and publish their own policies; social platforms collect on their own account and show us only aggregate figures.
What the site collects
Your browser sends technical information to our server on every request: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the referring address, and how long you stay. This is ordinary web-server behaviour and we do not tie it to a name.
We pass your IP address to an outside service (country.is) when you do something that sends data in — send the contact form or run a search — so we can tell which country the request comes from. It returns only the country; we keep that country code for a day, under a fingerprint of the address rather than the address itself. From outside the countries the site serves, those actions are declined: the form says so, and a search just returns you to the homepage. This check never happens when you simply read a page or an article.
Anything else comes from you deliberately – the message you send us.
How the data is used

- Handle your message and respond to it.
- Respond to a lawful request when we receive one.
Services we rely on
One outside service touches this data: our hosting provider, which keeps the server logs and the database, under its own privacy policy. There is no analytics, no advertising and no mail provider. No cookies are set; some pages call Gravatar for an author avatar, the only other outside domain. This page will be updated before any advertising, analytics or mail service is added.
No processing happens with an outside provider established in the United States, because no such provider is used. If one is ever added, this page will name it and say where the data goes.
If you subscribe
The legal grounds
Where European or United Kingdom law applies, the grounds are these: legitimate interest for keeping the site running, and legal obligation where one exists. There are no non-essential cookies, and nothing about what is read is measured.
Retention
Retention differs by type. Logs sit with the host and are rotated there. A contact message is kept for the length of the exchange. The newsletter has been withdrawn, and the addresses collected for it were deleted from the site on 12 October 2026.
Minors
Nothing here is directed at children under 13, and we take no data from them on purpose. If a parent tells us it happened anyway, we delete it.
On profiling
You are not profiled and no automated decision is taken about you. What the measurement produces is totals, not a view of any one reader.
Selling data
There is no sale of personal information and no sharing for another party’s marketing. That answers the California opt-out question directly, rather than by pointing you at a form.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. The site sets no cookies. Readers in the EEA, the UK and California have additional statutory rights, and we honour them for everyone.
How it is protected
Sensible precautions are taken on the technical and the organisational side. Anyone claiming a website is perfectly secure is selling something.
If something goes wrong
Raise a problem with us through the contact page and it gets dealt with. That said, nothing obliges you to come to us first: your national supervisory authority takes complaints directly.
